My girl, my oldest baby, my sweet Kerri - I am in shock that you are 7! Looking at all of your baby pictures brought back such amazing memories of you. I remember seeing you for the first time and I instantly believed in love at first sight. I cherish the first picture we have of our new family of 3. Obviously, our family has grown since then but you were just the beginning. :) You have grown into such a beautiful, silly, sweet little girl from the teeny bald little baby that was born 7 years ago!!
You are a wonderful student, a great friend, a sweet big sister (most of the time!) and an all around amazing little girl. You make your Daddy and I soo proud! Although at times I miss being able to spell things so you won't understand, I love hearing you read, seeing you write notes and draw pictures. You are a talented artist and I treasure your self portraits and little notes.
I continue to look forward to all of our new adventures. While we are still a couple of days away from your actual 7th birthday, I'm sure we will "do it up big!" :) You have asked for cake for breakfast and dessert before dinner on your birthday so we'll see what we can do.
I love you dear Kerri - forever and always - to the moon, stars and back again.

Happy 4th Birthday, Peyton!!
My dearest Peyton... I cannot believe you are 4! You are the sweetest 4 year old girl that I know. I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday, yet I look at you now, I am blown away at what a wonderful little girl you are. You started "school" this year and have adjusted to it amazingly well. You have made friends, play nicely, are helpful and happy and I couldn't be prouder of you. I wish you weren't growing up so fast but I love watching you grow. I love being your mommy, seeing you learn new things, watching you master new skills, seeing your personality blossom.
We celebrated your day from sunrise until sun down. You woke up to a floor of purple balloons (your favorite color at the moment) and a unicorn pillow pet. You chose donuts for breakfast, so naturally I loaded you and your sisters up at 6:45am and drove to Shipley's. We opted to all go in instead of the drive-thru but I suppose it was part of the fun. I made ice cream cone cake balls for your class and I think everyone enjoyed them! They certainly quieted a room of 14 3-4 yr olds! :) You picked pizza for dinner and topped the day off with a little more sugar by getting ice cream with Daddy.
My sweet, sweet girl - I look forward to all the adventures Daddy and I will have with you over the coming years. We have been blessed to be your parents. I love you forever and ever - to the moon and back.

School Days!!
Well today is the last week day of summer! We met the girls' teachers this morning. Both seem very sweet and I'm hoping for a great year x2! There is so much construction around the school that parking is going to be a nightmare this year. Needless to say, we got there 30 minutes early so we didn't have to walk half a mile from the car. Well worth it in my opinion!!
Emma told me last week that she doesn't want to go to school because she doesn't like being bossed around. But this morning she seemed ok with the idea and I think she liked her classroom and meeting her new teacher.
Kerri, on the other hand, can't wait to go back to school. She knows quite a few other kids in her class so I think she was excited for that.
We also got a new bus route - exciting stuff in our house, let me tell you! Last year Kerri was one of the first bus stops and this year we are the last! That gave us an extra 20 minutes in the morning!! Downside is that they won't ride the bus with their cousins anymore and they are the last to get off in the afternoons too. But that's ok too.
Peyton doesn't start school until Sept 7 but since I'm working at the school she will be up there plenty of times before school starts. And she is sooo excited about being in the Sunshine class!
I can't believe how big the girls are. I have a first grader, a kindergartener and an almost 4 year old. I visited a friend who just had a baby and it cemented in my head how grown up they are. :( Well, part of me is sad that they aren't babies and another part is excited for all the new stages! (Minus the eye rolling, back talking, foot stamping and squeeling that has been going on in my house over the summer!)
We're planning a trip to the children's museum tomorrow morning and then lunch out as a special end of summer treat for the girls and then maybe a little swimming and movie night at home. I hope they enjoy it, which I'm sure they will! :)

SuMMeR!!
Well, we're on the downhill side of summer. But its been good and gone by really fast! When school ended I was dreading summer - so many hours to fill with entertainment and 3 little girls at home all day! We've done alot of swimming, lots of playing, no napping but with the exception of a few days I could pull my hair out, it's been good.
The girls were able to go to summer camp a couple of weeks ago at CML, where I'll be working next year. It was a good week. An exhausting week, but definitely a good week! And we get to do it all over again this week. So another long week ahead of us but I'm looking forward to it.
So..what else has been going on in our sweet little household??? We're getting ready for school. I can't believe it starts in 3 weeks. Whoa!! Kerri is going into first grade which completely blows me away. Emma is going into Kindergarten which also blows me away. And Peyton will start at CML 5 days a week. We have new backpacks and lunchkits and clothes. Still need shoes but I'll get there! :)
Well other than that nothing much to report....

2010
We're a month into 2010. Its gone by fast, which seems to be a theme of my life.
We added a new member to our family in January. We got a puppy. He's a 2 month Australian Shepherd and we named him Wallace. To say the least, he is a handful but he is an amazing addition to our family. The girls are completely in love and once they start helping with the puppy chores we'll all be in heaven. :)
Peyton has given up pacis (and in turn, given up daytime naps). It was our last real baby thing we had to get rid of, except sippy cups but that's more for my sanity of not cleaning up spilled drinks all.day.long. It wasn't near as bad as I was expecting it to be. We've had a couple of nights of asking for it. Once she even instructed me to get in the car and go to the store. Other than that she has been completely fine. I think I was more of the issue than she was with it. Don't get me wrong, she missed it (and probably still does if the thought crosses her mind) but she's definitely not a baby. We're definitely used to it being the two of us during the day.
Kerri is 100 days in to Kindergarten. Actually tomorrow is their 100th day of school which is going to be celebrated with lots of fun stuff! She had a project to collect 100 of something to bring - she picked pennies. First she asked for dollars and I quickly squished that idea and talked her into pennies instead. We made a "piggy bank" out of posterboard and glued all the pennies to it. She brought it to school this morning. I hope it made it in one piece with all 100 pennies entact. :)
Emma is doing great in Pre-K. She has met her bff , Michaela. They are too stinkin' cute together. Its amazing how different the girls are. Kerri made a bunch of friends but not necessarily one that stuck out more than anyone else. Emma, on the other hand, made lots of friends but Michaela is definitely at the top of her list. She can read, although she doesn't do it as much as Kerri did when she learned. She keeps telling me that she doesn't know how. But I see and hear her read things when she thinks I'm not paying attention.
We've had a hiatus in going to church but went yesterday morning for the first time. I'm going to do my best to ensure we keep going. Emma went into her classroom great, Peyton cried and Kerri started to tear up but when we picked them up they were all happy and had a great time. Emma learned about Mary, Peyton learned about God and Kerri learned about Daniel and the lions den. (Kerri even answered the 2nd question right - she was very proud)
I have mounds of laundry calling my name! No promises that I'll blog any more regularly but I'm going to try. If only I had more interesting things to talk about.... :)

And here we go....again.....
First off, I'm a terrible blogger. I've attempted a blog twice and haven't succeeded yet. Maybe third time's a charm. :)
Let's see.. Kris and I are coming up on the 9th anniversary of our first date. WOW!! Some days it seems like just yesterday and others it seems like lifetimes ago. (we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in April).
Kerri is going to be six next month. I cannot believe I have an *almost* 6 year old... She started kindergarten in August and picked up right where she left off. The school had too many students for the number of teachers so they are adding another class. We will find out on Monday if Kerri will be moved. I'm not sure how she'll take it at first since she does like her teacher and her classmates. But no matter what happens I know Kerri will be fine. She is definitely an amazing and smart little girl and I could not be more proud of her!
Emma started Pre-K and is fortunately in Ms. Ashley's class, which she LOVES! We've only had one day that she didn't want to get on the bus and go to school but by the time she got there she was perfectly fine. She has adjusted amazingly well and I've been very impressed. She comes home singing and telling me things she has learned and I love it!
And little Peyton, my baby who isn't a baby anymore! She will be three in a month, where has that time gone??? She is totally potty trained and has been for the last month. We went on vacation this summer to Colorado and I "forgot her diapers there." Definitely one of my brighter mommy moments as it worked like a charm! :)
Speaking of summer - we did go on our first family vacation to Breckenridge Colorado for the first week of August. It was so beautiful! We took morning walks/hikes, which the girls loved! Emma is my outdoorsy climber child. She and Kerri picked flowers every day with the help of Uncle Keith. It really was a great experience that I am very grateful for.
